Customer requirement to provide: integration of Microsoft CRM data with Workday Adaptive Planning for daily updates. The Microsoft CRM application is a totally custom build of an XCRM solution using the Microsoft CRM toolset. The CRM application supports grant contract management and scheduling of grant funds payments at a transaction level. The Solution Valuebility team utilized the robust and flexible Adaptive Planning Integration framework to achieve this challenging integration. Since the standard CRM entities were not utilized, extensive scripting in the data source elements was required to bring the custom entity data into the Adaptive Integration data sources.
The Workday Adaptive Planning models were built to support forecasting of future grant payments under various forecast variables and scenarios, at a payment transaction level. Therefore, the Microsoft CRM data needed to be brought into a modelled sheet in Workday Adaptive Planning. User interfaces for data input of forecasting assumptions and viewing forecast results were provided by the extensive use of the Adaptive Planning Dashboards capability. The dashboards provided pre-set views of the model cube sheets and eliminated the need for users to become experts in the various cube configurations that are involved.

The custom CRM application had over 25 custom entities with on average 200 fields in each entity. Each field required 5-6 lines of script.
There were also 15 option sets/drop down lists that required different methodology for creating the data sources.
Microsoft CRM has an export limit of 5000 records which required special scripting to overcome.
The 30 data sources required several join tables and table groups to transform and unite the various entity fields and option set data, in preparation for the data mapping.
The integration includes daily update of both the Adaptive models and structure framework, as well as the scheduled payment data records.
The integration runs tasks and loaders daily to update Adaptive Planning models.
Customer is a Canadian federal crown corporation and historically a strong reference for Workday Adaptive Planning.
